The first printing of patterns is missing this instruction...
Handle
Press the handle fabric strip in 1/2 length wise, right sides out. Open & press each side into the center fold, basically making double fold binding. Close again & topstitch the entire folded strip 1/8” away from folded edges. Don’t worry about the ends as they will be tucked into the bag.
